Types of information we collect

We collect personal information from you when you register and use the site, such as your name, email and web behavior information (such as your IP address). Through the biological sample and the survey responses you provide to us, we collect genetic, phenotypic and familial information.

How we store your information

We do not store your personal and registration information together with your health data information. We do this to reduce the chance of you being identified. We assign a randomized identification number for identification purposes, and de-identify your health data (by removing all personal information from your health data). We also encrypt your data and limit roles within our organization ensuring that people who may see your personal information (customer support) cannot see your health information, and people who may see de-identified health information (researchers) cannot see personal information. All of these is done to keep your information truly private.
